Vivian Powell

Group Type: Seniors

Name: Vivian Powell

Uniting factors of our Life Group: This is our 2nd year and our group is for those who cannot meet in the evening.  We are a mixed group and we are friendly  and welcoming.  We prefer Bible studies and have great group participation.  We currently have 9 people and we are going to be meeting in the conference room.  We support one another in prayer, phone calls and meals as needed.

Home Life: I am married to Lloyd, my husband of 61 years.  Because of macular degeneration I do not drive so I get a ride to meetings.  We have two little dogs that give us much joy.  We have two married daughters who live in town and a son who lives in Casper, Wyoming.  We have 12 grandchildren, four of whom are married, and we have 2 great grandchildren.

Where I’ve lived: I was born in Boulder, Co.  When I was twelve we moved to Pueblo, Co., where we were married in 1960.  Shortly after we were married we moved to Denver.  We built our house in Littleton in 1968 and have lived there until the present time.  Both of us are native Coloradoans as were our parents.

School: Both Lloyd and I attended Pueblo Junior college where we met.

Work: I worked for a medical clinic billing insurance for 3 years before our first child was born.  Then I was a stay-at-home mom until    1980 when I went to work part time for a daycare center..  In 1987 I went to work as a bookkeeper, and processed paperwork for the sale of mobile homes.  I worked until July of 2009.

Church Involvement:  I was born again in 1972 and received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit a year later.  I got regularly involved in Bible studies.  I aided in worship and became worship leader for Women's Aglow.  I have been involved in music ministry for church all my years until about 2007.  I have always been a support person in Bible studies, but never led a group until I came to Authentic Life Church.  We started attending the church 2 weeks before Authentic Life Church was launched.
