Next Child Dedication
This is a great family experience where you can dedicate your children while also making a commitment as parents to honor God and glorify Him within your household. In standing before the church you are dedicating to the Lord both your child AND yourself as parents. Though child dedication does not save the child, it is a way of saying to the Lord “We want a blessed household, and a blessed child”. Child dedication is the act of giving back to God the gift he has given you as parents. It is an act of worship, thanksgiving, dependence, trust, and commitment. The practice of child dedication has been modeled throughout the Bible.
What to expect:
We usually have child dedications three times per year.
The dedication will be held on stage during Sunday’s service.
Anyone can come up to represent the child and be dedicated (ie, parents, grand parents).
Invite anyone and everyone you would like to be at this special event. You are actually honoring God by inviting family and friends to see all God is doing within your family.
The Pastor will anoint the child’s head with oil. In the bible, oil often signifies the Holy Spirit. Anointing with oil suggests our desire to see The Holy Spirit working in the life of our family.
There is no need for any special dress for your child or family (unless you want to).
We believe each Child dedication is actually more about the parent’s desire to be dedicated and empowered to be good, loving and godly influence in the child’s life. Though we are dedicating the child, we in turn are dedicating the parents (though no anointing will be involved for the parents).

Encouraging verses in the Bible:
Mark 10:14 Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
Matthew 18:1-5 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Why do we have dedications for children instead of baptisms?
We believe that baptism is an outward expression of an inward confession. Baptism is a personal decision of the heart to surrender your life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We believe that when people are old enough to understand what it means to put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior, they should have the opportunity to make that choice for themselves. We recommend that children get baptized no earlier than 6th or 7th grade when they have a better grasp of what their salvation means.
