Proverbs 31 Woman
The Proverbs 31 Woman– Some find her to be an unattainable ideal. The Proverbs 31 Woman– Some are fortunate to know so many of them! Whether you are younger, older, single, married, divorced, a mother, not a mother, hoping to become a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a mentor, a friend, career-oriented, a homemaker, a leader, or a follower, or all of the above at some point in your life, The Proverbs 31 Woman is someone we can all aspire to be.
The Lord values women! Proverbs 31 tells us that women of noble character are more precious than jewels. The very foundation of society, the family, is blessed by Godly women. Husbands and their endeavors are enriched all their days by a Godly wife. She rises before the sun and goes to bed long after the sun goes down. She serves her family, providing them with food and clothing. She cares for her children and tends to the finances and affairs of the family. She instructs children, friends, and other family members in wisdom and faithfulness.
The Proverbs 31 Woman also tends to the needs of the poor in her community and those in need of help within her circle. She uses her God-given talents in her business endeavors. Her work and her charity prosper her community and family.
Sisters in Christ— don’t be discouraged! Proverbs 31 confirms that God sees you doing laundry at midnight, making school lunches while quizzing your kids on their spelling words, and caring for your elderly parents. God knows the value of your contributions in the workplace and how irritating that one co-worker can be. God smiles when you encourage your husband or the younger person you are mentoring. He is pleased that you shine his light of hope in this dark world, and he is happy you are cheering on those kids at their soccer match! God understands your sacrifices to financially assist those in need or deliver a homemade meal to a family going through a rough spell.
As the Book of Proverbs closes out, God reminds us that the children of a Proverbs 31 Woman will grow up to bless her and her husband will praise her. God commands society to “give her the reward she has earned” and bring her praise, publicly. So, today let our prayer be that we will honor and bless the influential women in our lives, even if it is only with a quick text message. Today, let our prayer be that just economic systems will arise around the world to compensate women fairly in the workplace, and in retirement systems. May girls and women be blessed with educational opportunities and quality medical care. May girls and women everywhere hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and grow in his love. May God raise up more Proverbs 31 Women! We need them.
