MISSION IN THE AMAZON

Let’s bring the gospel to the Peruvian Jungle! Our church has a connection with the mission organization “Missions in the Amazon,” led by Jason Reiswig. Their mission is to develop and expand the ministry of Pastor Jorge Montero and his team in the Peruvian Amazon Jungle. Through Pastor Jorge’s ministry, over 500 Peruvians are baptized every year! In the last 15 years, Missions in the Amazon has fully integrated its program in 23 villages, launched 64 different businesses, currently helps lead 84 churches, serves 56 additional villages, and has taken over 100 groups on mission trips.

In the summer of 2024, the Authentic Life Young Adults Team flew into Iquitos, Peru, took a 2-hour bus ride to jump on a boat for 8 hours down the Amazon River to finally arrive in San Juan (a very small village in the middle of the jungle). From there, we went from village to village to share the gospel in whatever way we could to support Pastor Jorge’s ministry. (We put on kid's ministry programs, shared our testimonies, played soccer with the kids, painted churches, prayed over families, and so much more.)

We will be going on this trip again in the summer of 2025. Our goal is to come back and bring clean water to multiple villages. It costs $12,000 to bring clean water to each village. There are over 35 villages that Missions in the Amazon want to bring clean water to.
